Think First at Georgetown

Reported by webmaster@ipsd.org on 10/23/09

As part of our Red Ribbon Week observance, PTA arranged for Central Dupage Hospital to present an assembly to students called “Think First.” This assembly was designed to teach students about protecting themselves through proactive thinking and decision making. The students learned about their brain, spinal cord and spine. The students really enjoyed seeing a brain and were just a tad bit grossed out by the site of a dangling spinal cord! The presenter taught children about how fragile those parts of their bodies are, and how they can “think first” to protect themselves from an injury, be it through sports or drug use.
