Picture Day - September 14th
Order forms will be coming home with students on Tuesday, September 5th. ALL students who are present on September 14th will have their pictures taken. Students are NOT to bring their money envelopes to school until picture day. Envelopes are not collected in the office— students give them directly to HR Imaging on the day of pictures. If paying with cash, you will need to send the exact amount, as there will be no way to give students change. Checks should be made payable to: HR Imaging (NOT to Georgetown).



News from PE Teachers

Hello! A new school year is upon us and we would like to take this time to introduce you to the physical education program your child will be participating in three times a week. My name is Mr. Griffin and I along with Mrs. Steffenhagen will be your child’s physical education teachers this year. We are excited and proud to be members of this fine staff at Georgetown School and looking forward to working with you to educate your children on how to become fit and healthy individuals. With your assistance, we hope you will continue to foster the lessons learned in physical education because physical activity beyond P. E. is essential in remaining healthy!
Below we have listed some guidelines we have established to hopefully make this year a safe and wonderful experience. If you have any questions/concerns, please give us a call at (630) 375-3473. Thank you for your support.
The students must have proper gym shoes that are secure with Velcro/shoelaces to insure safety for all. Socks must be worn with gym shoes. High bottom (platform and wedge) gym shoes and skate shoes are not allowed.
If dresses/skirts are worn, the students should have shorts on underneath. Please have them dress comfortably and safely. We have the right to limit a student’s movement due to restrictive clothing to help prevent potential injury.
If your child needs to be excused from P. E. class, please have a signed note for them so we can keep it on file. After the third day, a doctor’s note is required.
Please keep us informed of any medical conditions that might affect your child’s participation in P.E. If anything has changed from the beginning of the school year in regards to your child’s health, please give us a phone call.
Discipline/positive procedures will be handled in class/school. You may receive a letter or phone call in regards to (+/-) behavior.

Headphones are REQUIRED for all Students:
Due to the high volume of technology at Georgetown, all students are required to have a pair of headphones/ earbuds at school. We will be selling headphones during Curriculum Night on Wednesday, September 13th for $4. If interested in purchasing, please bring exact change or a check made out to Georgetown School.


District/ Community News

KIDS MARATHON

More than 400 students ages 5 to 12 are now registered to represent their schools and Team IPEF in the Naperville Kids Marathon. This unique fitness program encourages students to make healthy choices, learn about goal setting and see how much fun running for a cause can be. Students commit to running 25 miles (one mile at a time) before October 20 and track their miles. They run their final 1.2 miles of their marathon on Saturday, October 21 at Naperville North High School and receive a shirt and finisher medal. Register at https://www.ipef204.org/kidsmarathon/ and choose to run for our school. Cost is $44 and includes race registration and a $26 tax-deductible donation.



A+ AWARD

The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation (IPEF) is partnering with District 204 to recognize staff who go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of students. Nominate a staff member by submitting an essay describing how the staff member has positively impacted students. Student nominations are strongly encouraged. Parents, alumni and community members are also encouraged to submit nominations. All nominations are kept for consideration until the end of the current school year. Nominees must be currently employed by District 204. To nominate a District 204 staff member visit http://www.ipsd.org/Subpage.aspx/APlus. Nominations must be received by September 8 to be considered by the September selection committee.
