Growth Mindset - Ways to Help Your Child
Your child needs to know that failure can (and often does) happen and it is okay! Remind her that each time she fails and tries again, her brain is growing stronger! Don’t step in to prevent your child’s failure--this is how she learns to persevere in the face of challenges.
African American Parent Dialogue Circle
Thursday March 8th @ 7:00-8:30 p.m. Georgetown School: Teacher’s Lounge
We need to hear your voice! Your perspective and insight is important to help make every child at Georgetown feel unique and valued. Let’s talk about your child’s social and academic experiences at Georgetown. In what ways can Georgetown staff and parents work together to support your child?
Questions and RSVP
Please RSVP the number of adults attending and students needing babysitting.
To: Rachael_Mahmood@ipsd.org or 630-375-3541.
ALL Georgetown Students need HEADPHONES:
With most of our school on 1:1 devices, it is imperative that each child have his/her individual headphones. If your child does not have headphones at school, please send in a pair for daily use. For your convenience, we do have some for sale in the LMC for $4.00. Please simply send the $4.00 to school with your child.
Please keep in mind that devices and headphones are used every day. They do break occasionally and need replacement. Please ask your child if they got a note from their teacher about needing headphones. Thank you!
Parent Survey - PLEASE give us your opinion
You have the opportunity to participate in the Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey was designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of schools across Illinois. As a parent, your voice is essential to help us understand the conditions at Georgetown and guide improvement.
The Illinois 5Essentials Survey is administered online by the University of Chicago, on behalf of the Illinois State Board of Education. The state will provide survey results for individual schools only if a school has at least 20 percent of parents take the survey. If you have children attending more than one school, we ask that you complete the survey for each school. You may also complete the survey more than once if you have more than one child in the same school. All survey responses will be kept confidential. University of Chicago asks parents for an email address when they begin the survey only for the purpose of sending a confirmation once the survey is completed. University of Chicago will never connect your identity and survey responses to you or your child or share the information with your school, the district or the Illinois State Board of Education.
To take this short survey:
1. Visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/login/.
2. Type and then select Dupage as District 204's County location. This is the county associated with the district, not the location of an individual school.
3. Type your school's name into the School field and then select your school.
