THANK YOU for a GREAT YEAR
It’s hard to believe that this is the last week of school for the 2017-2018 school year. We appreciate working as a team with all of our families to create the best opportunities for our students! Have a wonderful summer!
Students who ordered and paid for yearbooks will gets them on Tuesday, May 29th.
For students who did not pre-order a yearbook, Beginning Tuesday, they will be for sale in the office for $10 each. With limited extras, this will be on a first come, first served basis.
End of year Daily raffles for Georgetown students
As we all continue to learn and enjoy our last week of school, teachers are going to be giving out golden feathers to students who are making good choices and demonstrating good character. With Field Day on Friday, students will have a chance to be in a raffle each day this week for a Chicago Sports related reward. At 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week a representative from each class will bring their Golden Egg filled with Golden Feathers to the front foyer and dump it into one container. An office staff member will pick one golden feather each day to determine a winner.
On Friday, each teacher will draw a winner from each class.
We are so excited that next year all Georgetown students will have individual ChromeBooks. This year our 2nd grade piloted students taking the ChromeBooks home each night. The pilot went very well, so next year all 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students will be bringing them home each night to use and to charge. Parents will need to sign a User Agreement prior to students being able to use their new ChromeBooks. We are working on a plan to distribute them to parents. An email will be sent in August about how families can pick up the ChromeBooks.
During the last weeks of school we keep as much routine and structure in classrooms as possible, however, in order to keep students engaged and feeling great about school, we will have a motivational countdown to summer. Hopefully this will help students to maintain positive behavior and a strong work ethic through the last days of the school year. All Georgetown students will be participating on the days listed below:
H: Friday, 5/25 - Hang Outside (Spend 20-30 minutes outside doing: writing, reading, recess,
incentive party, team building, etc.)
